The Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science  offers the following programmes taught in English:

  • 3.5-year undergraduate programme in Computer Science and Information Systems leading to a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. Studies start every year in October.

  • 1.5-year graduate programme in Computer Science and Information Systems leading to a Master of Science in Engineering degree. Studies start every half year – in October and in February.

  • 2-year graduate programme in Computer Science and Information Systems leading to a Master of Science in Engineering degree. Studies start every half year – in October and in February.

  • 1.5-year graduate programme in Data Science leading to a Master of Science in Engineering degree. Studies start every year in February.

  • 2-year graduate programme in Data Science leading to a Master of Science in Engineering degree. Studies start every year in October.

Students finishing the English-medium studies receive their diplomas in the Polish language and their copies translated into English where:

  • the Polish professional degree of engineer (inżynier) is translated as Bachelor of Science in Engineering,

  • the Polish professional degree of Master (magister inżynier) is translated as Master of Science in Engineering.

The programmes taught in English follow an English/American pattern and lead to the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in 3.5 years and the Master of Science in Engineering degree in further one and a half or two years. The duration and extent of the programmes are defined by a system of credits. Credits are obtained on the basis of learning outcomes and are attained with a grade which is based on the semester coursework and  examinations. A student is supposed to study 30 credit points per semester (60 credits per academic year). To proceed from one year to the next, students have to obtain a certain minimum number of credits defined by the Faculty Council. After successful completion of the final semester and diploma thesis and after passing the diploma examination students are granted the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree or the Master of Science in Engineering degree. The standard score of a Bachelor’s degree programme graduate is 210 credit points. The standard score of a Master’s degree programme graduate is 90 credit points (3-semester program) or 120 credit points (4-semester program).
